Responsible sourcing

Responsible sourcing & grievance mechanism.

How Yetu aligns with international due diligence standards, and how to report a concern.

Our commitment

Aligned with the OECD 5-step framework.

Yetu structures its sourcing practice around the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (3rd Edition). That framework is the one our buyers answer to: it is what EU Regulation 2017/821 requires of Union importers of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold, and what section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act requires of companies reporting to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. We structure our records so that they can be filed straight into those obligations.

Strong management systems

Cooperative governance and internal controls designed to support due diligence.

Identify and assess risk

Risk identification across the supply chain, from pit to market.

Design a response strategy

Mitigation measures for the risks identified.

Independent third-party audit

External verification of due diligence practices.

Report on due diligence

Transparent reporting on supply chain due diligence.

Grievance mechanism

Report a concern.

Anyone, a miner, a community member, a partner, a buyer, can report a concern related to Yetu's operations, sourcing practices, or conduct in the field.

A report can be filed without a name and without an email address, and an anonymous report is handled exactly like a signed one. If you do leave an email address, it is used only to come back to you about your report.
